Similar to child day care, respite care is for caregivers or families who need to take a break from care giving to children with autism, ADHD / ADD, cancer, cerebral palsy and other chronic or life-threatening illnesses. Many national organizations offer day care respite centers, at home respite care and weekend respite camps. Other organizations such as hospice provide respite care as well.
